ALAF GASTRONOMIC FESTIVAL

The British Uruguayan Society (BUS) is affiliated to the Anglo Latin American Foundation (ALAF).  ALAF is a registered charity which acts as an umbrella organisation for the various Anglo-Latin American societies and supports them in their raising of funds to help underprivileged children in Latin America.  ALAF's main fund-raising event is an annual fair, in recent years held in Kensington Town Hall, at which the various member societies have stalls selling food, wine and handicrafts.  Cash raised through these stalls goes directly to the individual societies.  ALAF raises funds to cover running costs through the sale of entrance tickets and raffle tickets.

This year the event will be a LATIN AMERICAN GASTRONOMIC FESTIVAL to be held at Kensington Town Hall on Saturday October 16th 2010 between 12 and 6.30 pm.

Tickets are available to BUS members at £5 for adults and £2 for under-sixteens from the BUS representative on the ALAF committee:

Paul Jarman

115 Richmond Road

Kingston

Surrey

KT2 5BX

Books of ten raffle tickets (first prize is two return tickets to Rio de Janeiro!) at £1 each are also available. Please make cheques payable to ALAF and enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Please help BUS to play its part in supporting this valuable organisation and at the same time enjoy a fun day filled with Latin American food and music.
